The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company Ltd, the only remaining UK-based and UK-owned manufacturer of wheelbarrows has teamed up with charity Prostate Cancer UK to launch a wheelbarrow to increase awareness and raise funds.
The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company Ltd have launched the UK’s first wheelbarrow designed to help Prostate Cancer UK, the charity fights to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life. Painted blue and with a label highlighting details of cancer that kills one man every 45 minutes on the back of the barrow, the hope is that the Company’s large customer base will help sell the barrows the length and breadth of Britain. Each barrow sold will both increase awareness as well as raise funds to help fight the disease. The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company will contribute £2 to the charity for each ‘Prostate Cancer UK’ barrow sold. 
Commenting on this unique collaboration, Simon Thacker, sales director at the Walsall Wheelbarrow Company said, ‘When we spoke to Prostate Cancer UK about making a barrow on their behalf, we initially thought it would be only to raise money, it seems the men who use our wheelbarrows in the building trade are the key demographic target, the charity is trying to raise awareness with’

The barrows will be available in merchants who choose to stock them as of August 2020.
