Tube and fittings supplier Lawton Tubes recently hosted West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce chief executive Corin Crane for a glimpse of its new £20 million headquarters.
The new facility, which is currently under construction and due to open early next year, is being built directly across the road from Lawton Tubes’ current headquarters on Torrington Avenue in Coventry and comprises of a 107,768 sq ft warehouse and 17,220 sq ft of office and welfare space, alongside a 40-metre service yard.
Once open it will more than double the manufacturer’s capacity to meet rising UK demand for its plumbing, heating, air conditioning, OEM and medical grade products.
Mayor Parker commented: “This is exactly the sort of investment I want to see. Lawton Tubes is a fantastic local company established in this region and now investing in its future here.
“My job is to make it as easy as possible for more companies to do the same. In the two years since I was elected, my Business Growth West Midlands service has supported more than 20,000 businesses who just like Lawton Tubes share my ambition for growth.
“We’re starting to see that translate into expanding businesses, more local jobs and stronger supply chains in housebuilding and defence. That’s how we’re going to get our economy firing on all cylinders again.”
