Rainy Day Trust launches Christmas Kindness Campaign

Industry charity the Rainy Day Trust, has launched Christmas Kindness, a new campaign encouraging businesses and teams from across the industry to fundraise for families across the sector this Christmas.

The campaign is built around 3 key themes, each with its own easy-to-run fundraiser:
• Be fed: A Christmas party, whether that is a bring and share lunch or a cake sale, helping put a Christmas meal on the table.
• Be warm: Christmas Jumper Day, helping keep heating and electricity on.
• Be loved: A Christmas quiz, with 25 questions provided by Rainy Day Trust and a suggested £5 per person, helping families have presents to open.

Funds raised are ring-fenced for Christmas support for families across the industry. They are distributed as supermarket or utilities vouchers, so families can choose what is needed most for them, whether that is food, heating, gifts, or other essentials.

CEO of Rainy Day Trust, Anna Skeats, said: “Christmas should be a time when everyone feels looked after, and for some families in our industry that is hard right now. Christmas Kindness gives our sector a simple, friendly way to support families and individuals who are really struggling this festive period.

“We’re asking businesses to get behind this: pick a fundraiser, have some fun with your team, and know that what you raise will support families in our industry this Christmas.”

A free fundraising pack, including the quiz, is available from Rainy Day Trust, and anyone who would simply like to give can donate through the Christmas Kindness donation link.
