Employees from Forterra and Jewson MBS have completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in memory of a colleague.
Forterra and Jewson were joined by customers from Watkin Jones, Crest SW and Vistry Bristol to complete the 23-mile trek on 12 September.
The team finished the challenge in 23 hours and 28 minutes and has so far raised £6,030 for charity, with the money divided equally between two chosen charities.
Half of the raised funds will go to Cancer Research UK in memory of Meenu Gurjal, a Forterra employee who had also worked at Jewson during her career.
The remaining funds will support Band of Builders, which provides practical, financial and wellbeing support to people in the construction industry facing life-changing circumstances.
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves around 3,000 metres of ascent up Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Wales, with road travel between the three mountains included in the 24-hour challenge time.
Major account manager at Jewson MBS, Josh Cornford, said: “I’m so proud of what we accomplished as a team. It’s always a pleasure to spend time with customers and manufacturers. It’s a great way to build on the relationships we have, but to do it while raising money for such great causes really makes it special.”
