Benchmarx shoots for fundraising target

Kitchen supplier Benchmarx has achieved its 20th anniversary fundraising target, raising more than £20,000 for Alzheimer’s Society in a special clay pigeon charity shoot.

The event, held at Purdey at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School in Reading, was organised by Benchmarx Kitchens & Joinery in conjunction with Travis Perkins and Travis Perkins Managed Services. More than 80 competitors took part, with suppliers joining colleagues from across the Travis Perkins Group.

The day saw practice shoots take place in the morning before an afternoon competition, raising a total of £20,461 was raised for Alzheimer’s Society, which is the nominated charity of both Travis Perkins and Benchmarx.

The winning team from the day was made up of Richard Lavin (Travis Perkins), Daniel Stabik (Kronospan), Darren Pack (BSW Timber), Richard Smith (Hafele) and Helen Blakey (NoMorePly Boarding Systems).

Managing director of Benchmarx and Travis Perkins Managed Services, Rosie Wise, said: “We had a brilliant day and it was incredible to be able to raise a fantastic amount of money for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity which resonates with nearly everyone in the country in some way.

“We are proud to have such an extensive all-under-one-roof offering at Travis Perkins and Benchmarx, whether it’s for a general builder right through to a large housebuilder, so we wanted to host an event which brought suppliers together from across the industry.”
