STARK Building Materials UK Ltd has appointed Simon Chard as chairman of its builders merchant on the Channel Island of Jersey, Normans, and Martina McGibney as managing director designate.
Their appointments are made as STARK UK further solidifies its position on Jersey, having secured the Five Oaks site for Normans and committed to having a visible and permanent presence in the heart of St Helier, a significant collects location for the business.
McGibney is a long-term Jersey resident and joins STARK UK and Normans from Woodside Logistics where she was managing director.
Chard joined Normans in 2001 and was appointed as managing director in 2010, said: “I am delighted that Martina has joined STARK UK and will ultimately take over the reins as MD for Normans. She is the right person to lead the business into the next phase of its future growth and our strengthened position in Jersey. I look forward to working with her and in my new position as Chairman, a role that will give me an even greater opportunity to engage with local communities and stakeholders as we support and further the island’s economic and social prosperity.”
