Obituary: John Llewelyn Jones: Huws Gray company chairman

It is with great sadness that BMJ announces the news from Huws Gray Group that Company Chairman John Llewelyn Jones passed away on Sunday 14th August 2022.

John co-founded Huws Gray in 1990 with Terry Owen, and had been its Company Chairman for 30 years, championing the economic growth, local employment and heritage of Wales as the Huws Gray Group expanded.

Huws Gray Directors announced the news with the following tribute: “Those who have met John will know that he was a fantastic character, full of energy and enthusiasm. He liked nothing better than being out and about in the branches spending time with yard and shop colleagues alike. He will be sorely missed by us all.”

“We’ve all got fond memories of working with John over the years. He always had plenty of time and encouragement for everyone throughout the business.”
