JTD and Knauf Drywall give away a van

A brand-new Iveco van worth £30,000 was the first prize in a competition from merchant buying group H&B, in partnership with  key dry lining supplier Knauf Drywall.

The promotion was available to all H&B  merchant members nationwide, including the Development Group.

To qualify, H&B member customers had to spend a minimum of £500 on Knauf Drywall products, with at least £250 being on premium boards. The buying group supported members with marketing assets, helping them to spread the word and to encourage their customers to participate in the promotion. Winners were drawn at random for a total of three prizes – the van and two bundles of specialist drywall tools for second and third place.

The winner of the van was Gareth Tippett Builders of Holmfirth, a customer of locally-based JTD Building Supplies, who service the needs of their customers across West Yorkshire and the Greater Manchester areas., which provides access and benefits to emerging merchant businesses prior to full membership.

The incentive also helped to increase awareness and sales of Knauf’s premium boards, with a range of products offering a higher level of performance over standard plaster board across a wide range of common building applications.

JTD director Tony Sharkey said: “We have always taken immense pride in our ability to recommend the best product solutions to our customers.  Knauf premium boards are no exception. Congratulations to Gareth and his team.”

Tippett added: “It was unexpected to win, I couldn’t believe it. We use JTD all the time, so this felt like a great bonus. Big thanks to JTD Building Supplies, H&B, and Knauf Drywall for putting on such a great promotion.”

The winners of the bundles of drywall tools were Stanley Brash Construction of Peebles, who is a customer of Beatson’s Building Supplies, and Zahid, a customer of Farmac Building Supplies in Leeds.

Knauf Drywall national accounts director Dan Whiteland said: “Our aim from the outset was to increase the use of our premium products, so I was delighted to see so many H&B members and their customers get involved with the campaign – well done to everyone.”

Alison Harlow, category procurement director at H&B, added: “The promotion with Knauf Drywall has been a great success and a win-win for all involved, including all our members who got behind the initiative from day one.”
