Colleagues and customers from Jewson’s Colwick branch in Nottingham have teamed up with its counterparts at Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) Jigsaw Store to raise almost £1,000 in a charity football match.
In the Battle of the Brands event held at Carlton Town Football Club, over 40 customers and colleagues from Jewson Colwick played against its counterparts from the JPS Jigsaw Store to raise money for Brinsley Animal Rescue and Band of Builders.
Mitchel Sherwood, branch manager of Jewson Colwick, said: “We wanted to give back to the local community and bring our customers together with our colleagues from Jewson and JPS. Hosting a charity football match was the perfect way to do this and we are thrilled to have raised
so much money for two well deserving causes.
“We also found that training for the event boosted morale and built new friendships between players, and it helped us all to get fit in the process! It was such a success that we’re planning on it becoming an annual event.”
The match was free to enter and organisers welcomed donations from players and spectators, with a raffle on the day and food, drink and entertainment, raising almost £1,000 to be split between the two charities.
