Alsford fire up Erith firefighters’ new garden

Alsford Timber Ltd are recognising their 140th year in business in 2022, commencing with a donation of building materials to Erith Fire Station, to contribute to the station’s new wellbeing community garden being built at the station.

When Erith Fire Station approached local businesses to support their build of a community wellbeing and mindfulness garden being built at the station, Alsford stepped in to help, donating all of the timber & building materials they will need to create a calm and supportive space encompassing decking area, with pergola, and raised beds, including everything from Top Soil to Deck Boards to support the completion of the project.

It is hoped that the wellbeing and mindfulness garden will be finished in March 2022, and once complete, it will be open to both the firefighters and the local community offering them a tranquil space to find calm surrounded by nature.

The Alsford Welling branch fulfilled the delivery to Samuel McMath of Green Watch on 18th January 2022, with a special moment for Alsford driver Michael, a former firefighter,  when he recognised an old colleague he had worked with at another station.
