Worcester Bosch celebrates first apprenticeship scheme graduate

Worcester Bosch celebrates the first graduate of its Cecil Duckworth Apprenticeship Scheme

Worcester Bosch, the manufacturer of home heating technology, is celebrating the first graduate from the Cecil Duckworth Apprenticeship Scheme.

This summer sees Matthew Dutson, the first Cecil Duckworth Apprentice, successfully finish his four-year programme.

Launched in 2021 in memory of Worcester Bosch founder, Cecil Duckworth, the scheme offered a four-year rotational programme which gave the apprentice the opportunity to study for a Level 3 Engineering qualification. Duston got to experience hands-on practical training alongside classroom learning, and after achieving the qualification, was offered a permanent position at Worcester Bosch.

Dutson stated: “I’m so proud to receive the first Cecil Duckworth Apprenticeship and have really enjoyed the programme, which has given me a great insight into engineering opportunities and processes at a world-class manufacturer. I’ve carried out various rotations across all the engineering functions, which has given me different perspectives and has helped me grow in confidence. I’m looking forward to starting my new position.”
