Travis Perkins under fire for light pollution

Builders merchant Travis Perkins is still coming under fire from residents in Bridport, Dorset, this time for apparent light pollution.

The builders merchant sold its existing branch in the town to supermarket chain Lidl in order to fund development of a new branch, a development which met a lot of opposition before being given the go-ahead.

However, now residents are complaining about excessive use of lights coming from the site, both from Travis Perkins and Lidl. Locals believe that the amount of illuminated signage – which they say would be fine if the site was on a trading estate – is excessive and out of keeping with the area.
