Travis Perkins launches fast track to management

Travis Perkins has launched a Management Training Programme initiative designed to create the next wave of leaders for the builders’ merchant.

The Fast Track Management Programme will see 12 new recruits begin a two–year training programme, with the aim of them occupying a management position within a branch in the future.

Successful candidates will undertake Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship qualifications as part of their training, with three learners operating in each of Travis Perkins’ four geographical regions.

New learners are expected to start training following a launch event in October. Engagement and networking events will then be held quarterly, while former alumni of the programme will offer development support to the successful candidates.

The 12 branches in which the apprentices will be based are Bristol St Philips, Cambridge, Coldhams Lane, Chippenham, Edinburgh West, Epsom, Hartlepool, Lee Green, Leeds Elland Road, Northampton Harvey Reeves Road, Norwich North, Staples Corner and Witney.

Rich Lavin, managing director of Travis Perkins, said: “At a time when there are nearly one million youngsters not in employment, education or training in the UK, we are delighted to be offering a fantastic opportunity for people to take their first steps in a career which could take them to the very top of the builders’ merchant industry.”

Applications for the Management Programme are open now.
