Toolstation is celebrating its 20th year since opening for business in 2003.

To kick start the celebrations Toolstation has headed back to Bristol Whiteladies Road where it all began, with the landmark store being the first to open within the business. Earlier this week store colleagues and customers were surprised with a commemorative cake hand-delivered by popular trade professional partners and radio hosts The Bald Builders. The cake was designed in recognition of Toolstation’s product catalogue, which has been a staple of the business since being founded, with the 95th edition recently launching in January. As part of their surprise visit, The Bald Builders also put up a commemorative plaque acknowledging it as the site of the first Toolstation store, which can be located outside the front entrance.

Brad Hanson and Sam Hughes from The Bald Builders, said: “We had a really enjoyable day going to Toolstation Bristol Whiteladies Road where it all began 20 years ago. We’re incredibly excited to see what the next 20 years bring and no doubt Toolstation will continue to provide their customers with great value and quality. We hope our celebratory cake went down well, although we had to try very hard not to take a slice ourselves!”

The store will also be hosting a trade show between the 15th and 28th February, in which customers will have the chance to meet some of Toolstation’s top suppliers that have joined the business in the last 20 years, including DeWalt, Milwaukee, Google, Wilo, KitchenKit and more.

Over the course of the two weeks attendees will receive free product demonstrations from the suppliers, insight into new and upcoming ranges, and a new range of fun freebies every day. The trade event will start on the 15th February with representatives from DeWalt, and finish on the 28th February with representatives from Fluidmaster and Salamander. A full overview of suppliers attending can be found below:

Jim Gowland, head of distribution for Toolstation, began his career at Toolstation as a temporary assistant in Bristol Whiteladies Road store 20 years ago, and has shared his experience of how the business helped him progress throughout the years.

“I joined just as the first catalogue launched and was brought in to help manage the influx of orders that were coming into the business at that time. A lot of people progress by moving companies every three or four years, but in my 20-year career I’ve had about seven different jobs across the business. I love the pace, ambition, and excitement of working for Toolstation. I couldn’t think of working for anyone else.”

As part of the celebrations, Toolstation has unveiled 20 deals for tradespeople and DIYers to help them secure the best possible prices for trade-quality products, including discounts on DeWalt power tools, Tado smart home accessories, Milwaukee storage solutions and more. Plus for a limited time only, Toolstation are offering new customers downloading the app an additional 10% off their first app order.

Toolstation has also just launched its latest catalogue offering hundreds of new deals, and brands at amazing value that aim to help customers save money on trade-quality products during a challenging period of rising costs.

The launch comes after Toolstation saw unprecedented demand for its most recent catalogue, with all print versions snapped up by customers. Tradespeople and eager DIYers will be able to collect a printed version of the new catalogue from their local store or view the whole range online and via the Toolstation App.

The catalogue leaves no stone unturned with a wide selection of power tools, plumbing fittings, lighting & electrical accessories, painting & decorating products, construction gear and more, making sure no customer is left behind.

Trade professionals who are preparing for a new year of jobs can enjoy a wide range of offers on power tools and accessories, including savings of up to 26% on Milwaukee and Bosch power tools, and up to 28% on DeWalt drills and accessories.

For those facing outdoor work in the harsh winter weather, the catalogue also features a pair of Stanley Warrior Waterproof Safety Boots available for up to 20% off RRP. Award winning workwear band Scruffs also offers a Winter Essentials Pack for just £7.98.

As customers continue to face the challenge of rising costs, the catalogue offers up an array of deals on smart home products that trades and customers can use to upgrade their home, and take control of their bills, including up to 31% off smart thermostats.

Trade Account customers will be able to benefit from the 5% discount available on every purchased product from the new catalogue, with no minimum spend. Signing up to a Trade Account offers customers added support with more efficient financial management, up to 60 days interest-free credit, flexible credit limits and online account management.  Customers can apply online or via the app.
