Thompsons invests in EDP

North East independent builders’ merchant Thompson Building Centres has announced a five year investment in new software.
The company has signed a long-term agreement – worth £500,000 – with EDP Plc , to adopt the new Quantum VS system.

The new system will allow Thompson’s to develop new routes to market, reduce the cost of processing transactions and offer the next generation of enquiry management and order processing applications.

Thompson’s has been using EDP’s specialist systems since 1992.

The application can be accessed by Thompson’s through a variety of ways including smartphones or tablets.

Thompson Building Centres operations director Brent Ganley said the introduction of the new technology was an important factor in the continuous growth and development of the business.

“Access to information anywhere and at anytime is now extremely important to any merchant,” he said.
