Symphony employees raise over £3,000 in charity walk for children’s healthcare

A determined team of employees from Symphony have raised £3,170 by completing a 20-mile charity walk in support of two children’s healthcare charities.

Setting off from Symphony’s Head Office in Barnsley, the team walked to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, raising funds for The Children’s Hospital Charity and The Sick Children’s Trust—two organisations that have supported the families of Symphony employees during challenging times.f277c577bb4ef9f67ac80b6358b890d2de372442

The walking team comprised George Burtoft, Emma Watson, Brett Roberts, Robert Newton, Emma Banks, Steven Banks, and Sharon Vurgest, all of whom took on the challenge to give back to causes close to their hearts. The funds raised have been split equally between the two charities, helping to enhance medical care and provide much-needed accommodation for families of seriously ill children.

Following the Trans Pennine Trail, the route passed through Meadowhall before reaching its final destination at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Despite the physical demands, the team completed the journey in under seven hours—a feat made possible by the encouragement of supporters, who had already helped the group reach 63% of their fundraising target before the first step was taken.

Burtoft and Watson, who played key roles in organising the event, later presented donation cheques to both charities on behalf of the team. Their dedication and teamwork are a shining example of Symphony’s commitment to supporting its employees, their families, and the wider community.

Symphony has extended a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and supported the challenge, and commended the team for their effort, energy and compassion.
