Roper Rhodes won the Lightside supplier award, Toolbank the Hardware and Decoration Supplier award, while the Keystone Group won the Heavyside supplier award and ToolBank sales representative Rob Cullen won the Sales Representative of the year award. The overall supplier of the year was Keystone Group.

The supplier of the year awards are voted for by the Ridgeons’ branch staff against five categories and performance is measured against key criteria including; product quality, the level of service received, stock management, after sales support and the quality of the point of sale and marketing literature that is provided to support sales.

Bringing together key suppliers and employees, the annual merchant event enables face-to-face meetings to openly discuss opportunities for proactively developing on-going business and growing solid working relationships.

Using a speed meeting format, the overall objective of the event is to improve business for both suppliers and Ridgeons, while also officially recognising those suppliers that have provided an exceptional level of service over the last year. This year’s event theme was ‘What can we do in partnership to grow our businesses?’ and brought together 42 suppliers and 57 Ridgeons employees, resulting in over 700 meetings.

Ridgeons managing director Angela Rushforth, who presented the awards at the event said: “This year’s event was a real success and provided a perfect platform for our team to build relationships and develop partnerships with our key suppliers. It’s these fundamentals that are at the core of what we as a company believe and reaffirms our philosophy of recognising the value of long term, trusted relationships with employees, customers and suppliers.”
