Winners have been announced for the Big Build Competition, a community initiative launched by builders merchant National Plastics.
The Competition invited schools, charities and community groups across several UK regions to apply for a fully managed refurbishment project worth up to £10,000, with National Plastics supplying all materials and overseeing delivery from survey to completion across three locations.
Cuddington Primary School in Chester will receive new cladding, guttering and canopy work to refresh a tired reception frontage and replace a leaking early years patio canopy.
Harmless & The Tomorrow Project in Ilkeston , the national centre of excellence for self-harm and suicide prevention, will see new outdoor decking installed alongside internal wall panels to transform their waiting area into a more versatile space for drop-in and group sessions.
CrosbyOne, a community charity serving people of all ages and backgrounds in Scunthorpe , will receive a full guttering overhaul to tackle persistent blockages caused by debris from two large nearby trees.
Sanjit Dosanjh, commercial director at National Plastics, commented: “Across Chester, Ilkeston and Scunthorpe there are fantastic organisations doing important work for their communities, often in spaces that could really benefit from some investment. The Big Build Competition was our chance to change that for one of them. We wanted to create a competition that gives organisations the opportunity to transform their facilities and make an even bigger difference to the people who rely on them.”
