Keylite Roof Windows (Keylite) has appointed John Magee as its new Area Sales Manager for the Northwest of England and North-Mid Wales, to help increase sales for northern builders’ merchants and contractors.
With his eyes set firmly on growing what is already one of the most successful regions for Keylite, Magee is keen to establish the full potential of his northern sales district and make it the highest selling region for Keylite in 2023.
Having previously worked for electrical wholesaler, Rexel, he believes his sales experience from within a distributor will help him work alongside the builders’ merchants in his region, understanding their motivation, goals and processes for sales.
Magee comments: “Despite inheriting an already successful sales district, I’m confident there are untouched areas, particularly in the north of England, that I’m keen to cultivate.
“When I was looking into Keylite it really felt like a ‘hand in glove’ type of fit for me – this is really an organisation I can see myself growing with.
“I believe it’s really important that I fully understand my products, my customers, my area and the Keylite brand in order to hit the ground running. Since joining Keylite at the end of December 2022, I’ve been busy getting out and about across the UK and Ireland with my fellow area sales managers (ASM), meeting with the Technical and Aftersales teams, and undergoing various training sessions.
“Within my first few weeks at Keylite, I delivered a large presentation to over 40 staff for one of my largest accounts – C&W Berry. I think this could be considered pretty daunting for a new starter, but I’ve always been a fast-learner and an enthusiastic person.
“I think you have to be a bit of a bold mover in this job, but not forget that understanding our customers is at the heart of what we do. It’s my job to seek out any problems and find the solutions that fit everyone.
“Thanks to a great team around me – Martin Ledder, Northeast ASM and John Logue, Business Manager, in particular – it’s been a seamless start to my career at Keylite. And with new branches and projects already underway, I can’t wait to see what 2023 and beyond has in store.
“My aim is to take full advantage of the new lucrative deals made by our senior team with new merchants, whilst also delivering great account management to keep existing accounts engaged. Keylite have provided me with everything I need to both retain and grow the region. I can already tell it will be a great company to work for and I look forward to starting properly.”
