Jewson win exclusivity deal with Persimmon

Jewson have secured an exclusive contract to provide H&H Celcon aircrete blocks and Velux rooflite windows to UK housebuider Persimmon Homes.
The builders’ merchant has been named as sole supplier of the materials, which will be supplied for 16,000 Persimmon properties scheduled to be built in 2008, a deal worth £10m to the national merchant.

Such is Jewson’s commitment to the deal, they are introducing the Velux Rooflite window into their current range in specific response to demand from Persimmon Homes.

Persimmon Homes director David Bryant said of the deal “It is essential that we make our procurement function as simple and as cost-effective as possible. Having one supplier for these products will help us to do this and ensure that the supply chain is as efficient as possible.”

Jewson newbuild sector director John O’Sullivan added, “Persimmon Homes’ decision to appoint Jewson as the sole provider for these specific building materials reflects our unparalleled service levels when working with leading UK housebuilders. Exclusively supplying the products will significantly reduce the developer’s costs and streamline its procurement function.”
