JELD-WEN reach zero manufacturing waste to landfill

Specialist door manufacturer, JELD-WEN, has achieved its goal of zero manufacturing waste being sent to landfill from its Penrith site.

As part of JELD-WEN’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals for 2050 for its Penrith site, the company has introduced projects and practices to eliminate landfill-bound manufacturing waste.

Hamish White, operations director at JELD-WEN’s Penrith site, said: “Our ESG goals are not only designed to lower the environmental impact of the company, but to improve employee health and safety, and we remain committed to finding innovative solutions to support our journey towards net-zero, and ensuring the highest standards in product manufacturing and performance are met.”

WEN’s Penrith facility has so far achieved 50% of its sustainability goals, not only eliminating manufacturing waste sent to landfill but also committing to 100% global sourcing of sustainable or certified wood.
