THE DESIGN – On point of entry, you’re welcomed by the linear silhouette of a laser-edged banquet island unit in Alpine Grey Ceres-A furniture by LEICHT. This modular workstation is open on two sides, which creates a natural overhang and dedicated seating space for up to six diners. Defined by its clear-cut design and purpose, the banquet island provides the perfect contrast to the tall bank of appliances which showcase genuine concrete doors by virtue of LEICHT Concrete in dark grey Brasilia finish. The Concrete Brasilia furniture off-sets the extremely original sink station with structured wall panels in LEICHT Orlando. Shown in Calypto, a blonde wood laminate, this sink and preparation area works on a practical level and includes ample storage, along with open shelving, task and mood lighting, and the addition of lateral storage that is both discreet and convenient. The wood finish of Calypto offers a natural link between the preparation area and integrated wine rack interior with diagonal shelving, completing the run of cabinetry and blurring the boundaries between kitchen and living areas.

The winners were determined by an online vote put to more than 1,000 LEICHT kitchen advisers and architects. Thanks to the practice-oriented evaluation, the most harmonious overall concepts, the most spendid drafts and most detailed plans were honoured.

Hubble Kitchens & Interiors was voted best project among the 380 projects submitted from 28 countries and Richard Hubble, Director at Hubble had this to say “To be honoured with this globally recognised design award by LEICHT is testament to our capacity for leading edge design and will continue to motivate our multilateral approach to furniture.”

Anthony Crespi, Director at Hubble Kitchens & Interiors agreed and said “We are strong believers that design is its own reward, so to be recognised by one of our brand partners is further confirmation of our unique ability to transform interior spaces in to lifestyle environments.”

With a network of over 1,000 kitchen planners and architects globally, LEICHT has access to immense creative potential and this competition is the ideal platform for showcasing true design innovation.
