Make your voice count

The ballot is stronger than the bullet

This is a fabulous industry, full of people all doing some amazing jobs to the best of their ability. So let’s celebrate their achievements at a big Party at the end of September.

Yes people, this is the start of my annual nudging you to vote for the people brands and businesses you think best embody all that’s great about this sector.

I love a party, you know I do, so the BMJ Industry Awards is one of the best excuses I’ve come up with yet for holding one.

However, we need a peg to hang it on, we need winners and runners-up, a bit of jeopardy if you like. And that’s where you, gentle readers come in. The nominations have been submitted. The names of the businesses and people are up there on our website. Now all we need is for their champions to, well, champion them, by casting their votes.

We’ like to think that we’ve made the whole process as easy as possible. There is, I know, a lot to be said for a judging panel, made up of the great and the good of the industry, deciding amongst themselves which entry is the worthiest winner. However, I’ve sat on enough of them myself to know they are an awful lot of work, both for the judges and the organisers, and, let’s face it, most of us have way more to juggle than we really need right now as it is.

Besides, who better to really understand what makes good in this industry than the people who work in it and who really get just what it takes to go that little bit further?

The market is tougher than most of us have ever known it, and it doesn’t look as though there’s any fairy dust to be sprinkled to make it better any time soon. No better time then to really celebrate the best of the best industry.

BMJ Awards 2025 101

So, if you’re heading out to Spain for the NMBS Conference, take five minutes out of your downtime to head over to our website and vote for your choices. Or, if you’re holding the fort because everyone else has headed to NMBS for a weekend’s ‘networking’, then take some time out and make your vote count. Then book your tickets and we can reward those winners, commiserate with the non-winners, and celebrate everyone. It’s one of the things we do best in this sector.
