Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Luton Borough Council has told builders merchants organisation the Builders Merchants Federation that it is planning Health & Safety inspections of builders merchants and other distributors in the Luton area.
Inspectors will be visiting all sellers and distributors of building materials in the area during the months of December 2011 and January 2012.
The main focus of their inspection will be: generic dust, slips & trips, falls from height, ventilation, manual handling and workplace transport. Other local authorities can be expected to follow suit if there are a serious number of issues found.
