Housing demand falls in October

Enquiries to buy new houses fell in October for the fifth month in a row, according to the latest RICS housing market survey.

And instructions to the market dropped sharply for the first time since January.

The RICS blamed continued mortgage challenges and a cautious attitude for the drop in new enquiries. Survey respondents say that many buyers are indicating that they are going to wait until the Spring to make a decision on moving or not.
