FireDNA announces that it will be hosting two fire safety webinars on September 5 and 6 to discuss the Building Safety Act implementation programme.
Dame Judith Hackitt will be speaking at the webinar, which is called “All buildings, all builders – an essential guide to the widespread impacts of the new building safety regime”, and will share her thoughts on industry progress to date.
Tony Millen, chief product architect and operations director at FireDNA, said: “These webinars will highlight the importance of everyone in the supply chain taking responsibility for their role in contributing to, maintaining and managing building safety information.
“That’s not just dutyholders and not just buildings in scope; everyone in the industry has a key role to play in making buildings safer.”
The first webinar Dame Judith Hackitt will be joined by Ben Oram, head of technical at Buckley Gray Yeoman and Ben Blackwood, head of on-site design at Ballymore Asset Management Ltd to discuss how the Building Safety Act is impacting different parts of the supply chain, the expected changes in the next 18 months, and how existing projects are changing in line with legislation.
The second session on Wednesday 6 September will focus on construction products and the competency of those working with life safety products.
Hanna Clarke, digital and policy manager at the Construction Products Association, Iain McIlwee, chief executive at The Finishes and Interiors Sector, Will Hunnam, managing director of Forza Doors, Douglas Masterson, technical manager at Guild of Architectural Ironmongers, and Dr Stephen Hamil, innovation director at National Building Specification, will discuss how the industry ensures that product information is accurately recorded and transferred from the manufacturer to the supply chain and then handed over to the building owner.
The session will also cover how this information is managed throughout the lifecycle of the building, the role of third-party certification, and the challenges that organisations are experiencing in implementing the Building Safety Act.
