Daniel McKane of YBS inaugurated as member of WCOBM

YBS Insulation has announced Daniel McKane, the company’s retail sales director, has been inaugurated as a member of the Worshipful Company of Builders Merchants (WCOBM).

McKane was officially inducted as a freeman of the WCOBM on July 2 2024 at a distinguished ceremony held at Cutlers’ Hall in London. Following this, Daniel and other guests attended the WCOBM’s Summer Social at the Royal Automobile Club.  As well as signifying a respected standing within the builders’ merchant industry, membership within the WCOBM provides unique networking opportunities and a platform for professional growth.Dan Mckane and his wife

McKane commented: “It was an honour to accept the invitation to become a member of the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants. I was proud to have my wife by my side for such a memorable day and evening across two stunning venues. I very much look forward to supporting and contributing to the continued successes of WCOBM.”

As well as being a significant personal accolade, Daniel will also have the opportunity to help further the industry in several ways, supporting with the deliverance of WCOBM’s key aims:

  • To encourage professional and social interaction and the exchange of information between those concerned with the business of builders’ merchanting.
  • To support and encourage UK builders’ and plumbers’ merchants, distributors and ancillary trades to bring about a thriving and prosperous industry.
  • To promote and increase its charitable fund to make sizeable donations for education and training within the industry.
  • To support the Lord Mayor, the Sheriffs and the City of London Corporation.

McKane’s induction underscores his dedication and leadership in the field, joining nine other new freemen as a member of the WCOBM.

Master Alan Hawkins said: “I am delighted to welcome nine new Freemen to the Company on behalf of the Court. We hope that they will be inspired to support the Company and its aim to raise awareness of the importance of the role of the builders’ merchant within the construction industry.

“The Company hopes to bring about a thriving and prosperous industry through co-operation, networking and interaction, while also supporting the Lord Mayor, the Sheriffs and the City of London Corporation and its charity work both within the City and beyond.”
