Crown Trade finishes off mould

As part of its Steracryl health and hygiene range of coatings, paint manufacturer Crown Trade has launched an additional hardwearing mould inhibiting finish.

Steracryl Durable Acrylic Eggshell is suitable for use on broadwall areas and wooden trim, and is a highly durable, washable coating with a subtle sheen, available in a White and Pastel colour range in a 5 litre pack size.

The company’s established Steracryl Mould Inhibiting Matt is already widely specified as a mould inhibiting decorative coating , used extensively across the social housing sector, particularly where kitchens and bathrooms need to be brought up to Decent Homes standards, and in ‘voids’ which may be without adequate heat and ventilation for long periods of time.

Both Steracryl Mould Inhibiting products contain fungicide which maintains decorated surfaces by inhibiting the development of mould growth on the paint film. Fungal testing has been carried out to British Standard test procedure BS3900:G6.

Crown Trade brand manager Debbie Orr said: “Mould growth is a serious problem which doesn’t just look unsightly on interior walls and ceilings. If left unchecked, it can lead to respiratory problems for those who have to live with it. By preventing the spread of the spores, these two Steracryl coatings improve aesthetic appearances and also help to create a healthier environment.”
