Covers launches bag-based charity effort

Independent builders and timber merchant Covers has launched a new charity initiative in aid of the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Shops campaign.

Covers launches bag-based charity effort

The Mayor of Chichester, Councillor Anne Scicluna officially launched the Chichester branch’s event on Monday (November 12) by being the first person to donate a bag of unwanted items.

The other branches joining in the initiative are in Bognor and Horsham.

The Great British Bag-athon at Covers is asking the local community to pull together and challenging them to raise as many bags of lovely things as possible, which will then go on to be sold in local BHF Shops helping the fight against heart disease.

Bags of clothing, toys, accessories, shoes, CDs, DVDs, books, toys etc can be taken to the drop off point in Covers until Monday December 31.

Covers commercial director Henry Green said: “It’s wonderful to see people in the local community getting involved in the campaign. Whether groups are getting together to donate 5, 10, or 20 bags, or individuals are donating just one bag, it’s all extremely gratefully received and will help the BHF to continue its life saving work.”
