The Carbon Trust has confirmed today that paving and walling supplier Bekstone has further reduced its carbon emissions by an astounding 19.2%.
This represents a total carbon emission reduction since implementation of the scheme three years ago of over 55% and equates to nearly 300tonnes of CO2 emissions per year .
Bekstone is one of the Pavestone UK Group of Companies and managing director Kevin Fowler said: “This is a tremendous achievement for any manufacturing company and a particularly tremendous achievement for a manufacturer of precast concrete products.
“Our 2011 Carbon Trust assessment confirms that we are one of the UK’s most sustainable precast concrete manufacturers and demonstrates our continued commitment to further reducing our carbon footprint and to minimising our impact on the environment”.
