Baxi celebrates apprentices at inaugural graduation ceremony

Baxi has held its inaugural graduation ceremony at the Coventry Building Society Arena to celebrate the successes of its first group of apprentices.

The event recognised the outstanding achievements of Baxi’s first cohort of field engineer apprentices, its degree apprentices, and colleagues from departments across the company who have completed apprenticeships in the last twelve months to help further their career.IMG 6691

Baxi’s early careers advisor, Krystal McKinnell, said: “We are extremely proud of the success of each of our apprenticeship graduates. At Baxi, we believe that investing in apprenticeships is vital if we are to tackle the skills gap in the UK heating sector.

“Our goal is to support individuals in their early careers and beyond, shaping the future of the next generation of our industry so that they can further tackle important sustainability issues and introduce new low-carbon heating solutions.”

Baxi’s range of apprenticeship opportunities aims to develop individuals in a variety of roles to enable them to achieve a rewarding and satisfying career with the opportunity for future continuous career development.

IMG 6682It currently employs 47 apprentices across different parts of its business. It has also provided support for Baxi Approved Installers to take on apprentices and continues to partner with colleges across the UK to support budding installers.

Madison Dowding, one of the field engineer apprentices who attended the event, said: “I began the field service apprenticeship straight after school. I was daunted at first, but the support from the business, colleagues and my mentors has been brilliant and has really pushed me to excel in my role – so much so I won apprentice of the year at college and now I’m ready for the next step in my career.”

The company has now welcomed its new group of apprentices for 2023 which includes the next cohort of field service engineers, as well as apprentices in health and safety, procurement, carpentry, toolmaking, welding, maintenance and CNC engineering.
