ARC Building Solutions Ltd is pleased to announce the launch of its new ARC Wired Tile Batten Barrier. Manufactured from wire reinforced rockfibre mineral wool insulation, it has been designed to provide a fire, thermal and acoustic break at the party wall between the roof tiles and the roof membrane.
Developed to comply with NHBC requirements for fire stopping at the party wall between domestic dwellings, ARC Wired Tile Batten Barrier replaces the former ARC Tile Batten Barrier. Providing fire stopping above the roof membrane, between tile battens to the underside of the roof tiles, the new system works in conjunction with the Party Wall System to create a complete fire break at the separating wall.
The product is supplied in 1.25m lengths, which allows for easy on-site handling and quick installation. A knife is used to score the ARC Wired Tile Batten Barrier, releasing the compression and allowing the mineral wool to recover to its full height. The tile battens are then fixed into the scored barrier. If there is any excess mineral wool, this should then be released around the battens and used to fill any gaps underneath the roof covering.
ARC Wired Tile Batten Barrier complies with building regulations for fire stopping at the pitched roof party wall detail, as well as NHBC 7.2.16. Manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool that achieves a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1, the product also conforms to BS EN 13162 and EN16001 Energy Management Systems. In addition, ARC’s rockfibre mineral wool insulation has a declared thermal conductivity of 0.040W/mK.
