Z-Led stop gas and damp in one

Z-Led’s new Protect GDB10 Gas and Damp Barrier stops any methane, carbon dioxide and radon from entering the building, at the same time as providing a damp-proof membrane.

When installed with the company’s Z-Led’s Cavity & Slab Edge Protection System, the GDB10 Barrier provides a complete universal barrier for protecting buildings against both gas and damp.

When used as an oversite membrane below floor slabs or suspended floors, it provides a complete solution to compliance with Building Regulations Part C and BRE Report BR 414 2001 ‘Construction of buildings on gas contaminated land’, without any need to install an additional damp proof membrane, helping reduce both labour and material costs.

The multi-layer reinforced polyethylene/polypropylene membrane with integral continuous aluminium foil is supplied with full fixing instructions. Z-Led Protect GDB10 provides tensile strength and enhanced puncture and tear resistance, but it is easy to cut and, weighs only 17.5kg a roll. Each roll is 40x long and 2.5m wide. There is a range of accessories including Slab Edge Protection Trays, Joint Protection Tape, Universal Pipe Seals, Airbricks and Periscopes.

“Harmful soil gases such as methane, carbon dioxide and radon can enter properties through routes including cracks in floors and walls, construction joints and wall cavities,” says Matt McAndry, Z-Led technical manager.
