High Wycombe Rugby Club in Buckinghamshire and Woodbridge Rugby Club in Suffolk have both won £5,000 worth of materials after winning a Community campaign held by Travis Perkins and Northampton Saints.
The campaign forms part of Northampton Saints’ long-standing relationship with the UK’s largest builders’ merchant, which has seen Travis Perkins sponsor the Gallagher PREM rugby side for the last 25 years.
More than 50 rugby clubs entered the competition, with clubs asked to explain how they would use the materials as part of the application process.
Ally Wong, Group Head of Marketing at Travis Perkins, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of entries we received for the clubhouse renovation competition.
“Selecting the winners was difficult as there were many worthy entries, but these two clubs truly deserved it. They were chosen not only for the incredible work they do supporting grassroots rugby, but also for the positive impact they have on the wider communities in the vicinity.
“It is a privilege for us as a business to donate these materials, knowing they will make such a difference.”
Both clubs plan to use the materials to develop their facilities and provide other essential improvements to their clubhouses.
