Travis Perkins brings the beach to Leigh

This week a town in inland Lancashire will have a beach, thanks to help from its local branch of builders merchant Travis Perkins.

Until this Saturday the Town Hall Square in Leigh will be transformed into a mini-beach, complete with buckets and spades.

Builders’ merchants Travis Perkins’ Leigh branch has supplied three tonnes of sand for the event. Manager, Gary Turner said: “After the success of last year’s event we were happy to help out once again with the sand for the mini-beach. It’s a long drive to the beach, so we’re bringing it to our residents’ doorstep.”

The popular attraction will run every day from 11am – 5pm and will include: a children’s funfair, carousels and inflatables, a hook-a-duck stall, trampolines and donkey rides.

Leigh Beach Week is organised by Economic Regeneration’s Town Centre Management initiative.
