Superglass: “We want the Green Deal to succeed”

Alex McLeod, CEO of insulation manufacturer Superglass Holdings has welcomed the launch of the Green Deal to the general public.

Superglass: 'We want the Green Deal to succeed'

He said: “We fully support and encourage the Government’s commitment to energy efficiency, increasing the opportunities homes and businesses have to substantially save on their heating bills, especially in the current economic climate, and identifying insulation in particular as the most effective means of cutting costs, keeping warm, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions.”

The Green Deal, the Government’s flagship energy efficiency programme, launched to the public yesterday. It allows householders to borrow up to £10,000 to make certain energy efficient home improvements, repaying the loan via their electricity bills.

McLeod said: “We want the Green Deal to succeed and to do this industry and Government must all work together to deliver on its green ambitions, protect jobs and encourage growth in the UK’s manufacturing and construction industries by making the scheme as accessible and transparent as possible for the consumer.”
