South Wales largest independent builders’ merchants continues to expand

LBS Builders’ Merchants Ltd have completed the acquisition of Talbot Timber Ltd, their largest acquisition to date.

Talbot Timber have been supplying the construction industry across West Wales for over 35 years from four branches in Pembrokeshire.

Three branches in Haverfordwest, Milford Haven & Tenby have been rebranded LBS with an expanded range of products and will trade within the LBS branch network. Customers in West Wales will have a ‘bigger and better’ LBS presence, delivering improved choice and customer service levels.

Talbot Timber has an established timber engineering & sheet material business based in Pembroke Dock, supplying engineered roof trusses, Pozi joists, and timber across South Wales and into the West Country. This part of the business will trade independently of the LBS branch network supplying its customer base of builders’ merchants, joiner businesses and regional developers/contractors.

The enlarged LBS Group now consists of:

15 Builders Merchants branches

8 specialist Plumbing and Heating Merchant branches

7 specialist Kitchen and Bathroom showrooms

1 specialist Roofing Merchant branch

1 specialist Civils Merchants branch

1 specialist Timber Engineering and Timber Merchant
