Robert Price opens sustainable centre

Created to showcase, inform and educate customers on sustainable building materials and construction solutions, builders merchant Robert Price opened its Sustainable Energy Centre in Newport, last month.

The independent builders’ merchant has teamed up with Daikin, world-leaders in heat pump manufacturing to launch the centre in Robert Price’s Newport branch.

During the event, Robert Price and Daikin gave attendees a taste of their product offering, discussing how their sustainable solutions will help customers reduce their carbon footprint with the Welsh government committing to carbon net zero nationally, by 2050.

Newport City Councillor  Yvonne Forsey, who is also the newly appointed Cabinet Member for Climate Change & Biodiversity for Newport City Council spoke at the event, and said: “Our Climate Change Plan and Local Area Energy Plan set out strong commitments to support our communities to reach net zero carbon by 2050, and we will be working to support households to become more sustainable and less dependent on fossil fuels.

“As a local authority we see the opening of this centre as a positive step towards this goal, as it will ultimately support our residents and installers through their retrofit journey.”

Other attendees at the centre launch event included the Mayor of Newport, Councillor Martyn Kellaway, who toured the showroom, learning all about the wide range of product solutions on display with the Robert Price Energy Team advisors, and later assisted with the ribbon cutting ceremony.
