The Ridgeon Group, which is one of the UK’s largest independent Timber and Builders Merchants, recently held its Long Service Awards to celebrate 67 colleagues who have dedicated a total of 860 years to the company.
Taking place at the head office in Pampisford, Cambridgeshire, on 13th and 14th June, Gordon Ridgeon and Amanda Smith, both family directors, presented long-term colleagues with framed certificates in recognition of their commitment and hard work over the years.
Now in their 21st year, the Long Service Awards are an opportunity for the Ridgeon family and company directors to recognise and thank colleagues who are celebrating 10, 15 or 20 years of service. Award recipients represented a diverse range of roles across the company and region, and are based at 25 branches including support centres, the distribution centre, and the company’s dedicated timber mill, Ridgeons Forest Products.
Gordon Ridgeon, Family Director, said, “The awards recognise our colleagues who have contributed to Ridgeons in the long term, helping to develop relationships with customers, communities and with each other. It’s these relationships that shape the company’s success.
“The certificates bear the words, ‘Each person’s contribution makes a difference’. It’s a phrase used a lot in the business, and is as true today as ever before. I was delighted, on behalf of the Ridgeon family and directors, to personally thank each colleague for making an individual contribution, while also being an extremely important part of the Ridgeon Group’s team.”
Also in attendance were family directors Amanda Smith and Johnnie Sam, Ian Northen – Ridgeon Group’s CEO, Su Britter – HR Director, and Richard Gray – Operations Director.
