City Plumbing, part of Highbourne Group, has launched a new Lowest Price Guarantee.
The guarantee comes after a survey of 500 UK plumbers and heating installers, conducted by Censuswide in March 2025, found that installers spend an average of just over three hours a week searching for the best deals.
Based on an average hourly rate of £45, that adds up to more than 20 working days a year and almost £7,000 in potential chargeable time spent checking prices.
As part of its Lowest Price Guarantee, City Plumbing will review prices daily against leading UK retailers and, where appropriate, match prices or have the difference refunded.
The guarantee covers a wide range of everyday electrical products, including cable management, switches and sockets, lighting, ventilation, electric heating, EV charging and consumer units.
Chief commercial officer at City Plumbing, Hemal Morjaria, said: “Our Lowest Price Guarantee is designed to help installers protect their profit from both sides. It helps customers feel confident they are getting a competitive price on the products they use day to day, and it cuts down the time spent going between suppliers, checking websites or comparing costs when they could be on the tools.
