Plumbing and heating merchant, Plumbase has opened its 200th store in Durham.

The Durham store, which is located just off the A167 in the Abbey Road Industrial Estate, will stock and sell plumbing fittings, copper piping and plastic plumbing, radiators, values, boilers and heating controls.

One lucky customer got the chance to win a Mitsubishi L200 4Work Single Cab (worth £16,798.80) van in a national prize draw, plus The first 100 customers through the door won a free Toolbox with pipe slice, blow torch, copper fittings, screws and plugs, there were also prize draws and offers available to customers when the branch opened on Monday (March 5).

The first 10 new account customers at Durham to spend over £1,500 Ex VAT will receive a Flat screen TV.

Plumbase now employs over 1100 people nationwide and has stores in locations ranging from Inverness to Plymouth.

Plumbase managing director Andy Gribble says: “Plumbase continues to have a strong growth plan with more stores opening this year and existing stores being refreshed with our new brand look. We are bringing in energy savings solution stores called Ecobase to reflect demand for greener efficiency solutions, – as an example we have an air source heat pump installed at Durham to keep our running costs down.”
