Plumb and Parts Center raise money for children’s charity

Plumbers merchant chain Plumb Center and sister Wolseley company Parts Center have raised £100,000 for charity Action for Children this year.
The main event of the year was a trek through Provence, where for five days 24 employees trekked over 18km a day, through torrential rain and hail in the foothills of the Alps. Other fund-raising activities included traditional raffles and golf days to glamorous balls and Christmas parties.

Alan Robinson, Plumb Center’s regional trading director, said: “We were overwhelmed by the encouragement and support from the local community, particularly in this tough economic climate. Action for Children really is an incredibly deserving charity and we were thrilled to be able to present them with the cheque for £100,000.”

Plumb and Parts Center will be continuing its support for Action for Children next year with plans already in place for a trek through Istria, Croatia and an Andalucian bike ride from Granada to Seville.

Action for Children is one of the UK’s leading children’s charities and dedicates its efforts to supporting children and young people affected by poverty, disability, abuse or neglect. Action for Children has nearly 420 projects around the UK and helps about 156,000 children, young people and their families across the UK.
