LBS opens new roofing merchant

Independent Welsh builders merchant LBS Builders Merchants has opened its first specialist roofing branch today.

LBS opens new roofing merchant

Trading from a site that has housed a roofing merchant in Landore, Swansea for the past 30 years, the business will trade under the new name of CASEY’S Roofing At LBS.

The move means LBS, south west Wales’ largest independent builders merchant, now has 13 branches. It will celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2011. LBS is a member of NBG LLP, the independent builders merchant buying group.

CASEY’S Roofing At LBS will cater for roofing contractors, builders and the general public, selling pitched roofing products, a comprehensive range of flat roofing, PVCu fascias and rainwater products will be stocked. The branch manager is Carwyn Harries.

LBS managing director Mark Davies said: “We are delighted that LBS can continue to grow at a steady and sustainable rate with our 13th branch being at the heart of the roofing and building industry in South West Wales.”

“What that means to new and existing customers is a complete range of roofing products at competitive prices, plus excellent customer service including same day/next day delivery. Furthermore, LBS’ knowledgeable staff will provide expert advice and support through every stage of the supply process.”

He continued: “Having successfully opened a new branch in Neath earlier this year, followed now by this roofing business in Swansea, our growth plans remain on course. If we were 14 or 15 by the end of next year or the year after, that would be OK, but really we don’t want to push on to being 20 or 30 in the next five or six years. One a year or every two years suits us just fine.”
