NYEs announce “Proud to be local” charity shortlist

Three charities are hoping to be the recipients of £500 after being shortlisted in the latest round of NYEs Building Supplies campaign ‘Proud to be Local’.

The builders’ merchant, which is based in Kingsfold, has announced the latest finalists to make it onto the shortlist in this round and is calling out to the public to vote for its favourite. The group with the most votes will win.

The three causes that have been shortlisted this time are:

Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, Compton Lane, Horsham
The Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School caters for pupils with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, or complex needs. It currently has 100 pupils between the ages of 2 and 16 who attend and its head, Mrs Lesley Dyer, was recently named Head Teacher of the Year. The money will be used towards creating a sensory garden and interactive library for the children.
The Secret Garden Sanctuary, Holmbury St Mary
The Secret Garden Sanctuary is a non-profit community company which is creating a sanctuary for vulnerable adults and children. Once finished, the space will also be open to local families and businesses. The group would like to use the £500 to help complete the project.
Amber Pre-School, Horsham
Amber Pre-School is based on Amberley Road in Horsham and is currently expanding its education experience to include a weekly forest school for children. It would like to create an outdoor eco-play house so the children have the freedom to explore nature and wildlife and a wonderful learning opportunity.

Rex Nye, Managing Director of NYEs Building Supplies, said, “There are three ways for people to vote – Facebook, at our depot and via email. Everyone is welcome to vote using all three methods and it is a great way to maximise the chances of winning for each group. We wish our three latest finalists the very best of luck.”

Votes can be cast in three simple ways. Either by visiting NYEs Building Supplies depot in Kingsfold along the A24 and posting a token in the relevant voting box, clicking the chosen group on the poll that will be pinned to the top of NYEs Facebook page, or by emailing proudtobelocal@dwnye.co.uk and putting the name of the group being voted for in the subject line (only one email vote per address will be counted).

Voting will close at midnight on Sunday 24th November 2019
