Caberdek Sealfast, a new flooring system from Norbord, combines Caberdek tongue and groove P5 flooring, to make installing high quality, creak-free suspended timber floors quicker and easier.

The Caberdek Sealfast system is a quicker, simpler alternative to most existing flooring adhesive systems on the market. It’s quicker because the installer does not have to tape joints and they can use fewer fixings.
The Sealfast glue is also used to bond the Caberdek P5 flooring boards to joists. This method reduces the number of nails or screws required, from 12 per board to just three, which are used to hold the board in place for 40 minutes while the glue cures.
This system replaces the existing industry standard method of running PVA glue along the joints and applying a protective tape to keep moisture out of the joint.
“PVA is good woodworking glue but it’s not as strong as PU and it’s not waterproof” says Jim Caldwell, technical sales manager at Norbord. “Using the Caberdek Sealfast system now means that you get a stronger floor and no squeaks because every part of the floor assembly that can be bonded, is bonded”.
