Independent builders and plumbers merchant John Nicholls opened a new branch in Rugby today (May 31).

Nicholls opens new Rugby branch

The branch, on a former printing works in Cottage Leap, Rugby, is actually two branches on one site – a heavyside builders merchant and a plumbers merchant.

John Nicholls chairman Andrew Nicholls told buildersmerchantsjournl.net that the existing plumbers merchant branch in Rugby had outgrown its premises and the company were looking for a new site for it.

“Our existing plumbing and heating branch in Rugby had outgrown I ts original premises and we knew we had to relocate it,” he said.

“When we found this ex printing works, we realised that not only was iIts profile and visibility extremely good , but that there was both room for the plumbers merchant to grow and for us to establish a good sized heavyside branch on the site as well.”

The two branches are completely separate, each with its own entrance, branch manager and staff.

The branch was officially opened by the Mayor of Rugby, Councillor Kathryn Lawrence.

The company ran a special open day, featuring opening offers and several prize draws for a number of 40in LCD TVs – one per Nicholls branch – as well as one for a brand new Boxer van and signed rugby shirts.
