Klober supports young roofers

Roofing and ventilation component manufacturer, Klober has donated materials to a number of colleges nationwide as part of its commitment to supporting the next generation of roofing professionals.

Several colleges in Scotland and the South West of England received a wide variety of materials, which will be used by students in practical training sessions to help provide invaluable hands-on installation experience, which is replicated on lifelike roofing rigs.

Klober has also supported the colleges with dedicated CPD classes, designed to enhance the students’ abilities. Covering topics like the elimination of condensation, the sessions have helped to reflect real life applications of products, as well as covering safety and the importance of maintaining best practice at all times.

Klober managing director Stuart Stockley, said: “Closing the skills gap by attracting and nurturing new talent is the responsibility of not only educators but also the wider construction industry. This includes manufacturers who can add real value to learning, through technical help and product support. Donating Klober products is one way we are committed to supporting the next generation of roofing professionals.

“It is our ambition that this approach will help to enrich the students’ education and in the longer term contribute to the UK’s quality and competency of roofers. It is a privilege to support the next generation of roofing construction professionals and to help them succeed.”

Steve Dowell, roofing lecturer for construction department at South Devon College, added: “While there is no one-size-fits-all in terms of the path that individuals take into their chosen career, what we do know is that by providing the practical skills and coaching required for specific careers, we can better prepare our students for the working world. Product donations and support from Klober have played an important part in providing the students with valuable practical insight, and a greater understanding of how the skills they learn in the classroom will be used in real life, with real products. We are extremely grateful for the donations and for the value that Klober has added to our roofing courses.”
