Klober makes three new appointments

Leading roofing components manufacturer, Klober has recently made three new key appointments as it aims to embrace a more diverse skillset to help bridge the skills gap.

With recent reports from the Office for National Statistics (ONS stating that the unemployment level had dropped below vacancy numbers for the first time, the pressure on employers continues to outstrip supply.

In its latest recruitment drive, Klober says it identified this as an opportunity to think outside the box and bring a fresh perspective to its business, ultimately adding value to its customers.

Ben Edge, divisional sales manager at Klober, added: “As a management team we decided to shake up the recruitment brief and consider experience from outside the construction sector because we knew key account roles would utilise a similar skillset. This has hugely paid off in helping us to find some highly skilled individuals who have the initiative and strategic ability to work with customers of all sizes.”

The three new area account managers who have joined the business are: Pedro Ramos for the South East; Thomas Watts for Yorkshire and the North East; and Joe Haley for South Wales and South West.

Ramos has spent the past six years managing the key accounts for a market leading spirit company. He has always had an interest in the construction sector due to his father running a construction firm and originally studied construction at college, with earlier ambitions to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming an architect.

Pedro

Pedro Ramos said: “I believe experience from my previous role will be transferable, a lot of what I was previously doing was building rapport, negotiation, communication, strategic planning and understanding how we can partner up with our customers to help grow their business, as well as ours. I’m really excited for what lies ahead.”

Watts also joins from outside the industry but brings unique experience from dealing with a major luxury watch brand.

Thomas Watts

Thomas Watts said: “What attracted me to Klober was the opportunity to work for a market leader in an important sector. Although I am new to the industry, I appreciate the presence Klober has, and I believe my background of working with a premium brand will mean I can enhance the customer experience further.”

Haley is the final recruit and joins with over three years sales’ experience in the electrical industry, working with a range of wholesalers and contractors across South Wales and the South West.

Joe Haley

Joe Haley said: “I’m looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into a new challenge. Although this is a new sector for me, I believe there are many similarities between the electrical and roofing trades which will help me foster close relationships with customers.”
