Kent Blaxill announces managerial change at Ipswich branch

Independent builders merchant Kent Blaxill has made two appointments affecting its Ipswich store and its senior management team.
James Park, 39, the current Kent Blaxill Ipswich branch manager, has been promoted to a company-wide role as decorative manager, effective from August 1. Mark Emeny, 48, has been recruited from a rival company to succeed Park as Ipswich branch manager.

Park’s new role will involve him overseeing the decorative business across the company and supporting branch managers. He will be responsible for the company’s decorative product range and strategy, promotions, pricing, store layouts and merchandising.

“It is a more operational role and will involve me developing company-wide network efficiencies as well as working on new branch development,” said Park.

Mark Emeny, who has an extensive background in plumbing supplies, is initially focusing on building up plumbing sales at the Ipswich branch before taking over from Park as Ipswich store manager on August 1.

The Ipswich branch was relocated last year to modern new 10,000 sq ft premises at 5 Trinity Street to allow a greater range of stocks to be held as well as the introduction at the branch of a plumbing and heating department.
