Building plant and equipment specialists JCB have opened a new £40m heavy products factory.
The new plant has a capacity for 8,000 machines a year, despite the fact that the market is 40% down on 2007 levels.
However, the new factory features a more efficient production process, higher build qualities and a new six-stage paint finish. All of which means the warranty period on the 25 machine types built at the factory has been doubled to two years or 3,000 hours.
